A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to train a high school field hockey program.  Both the JV and Varsity teams attended the training on separate occasions.  As expected, Varsity had better athletes than JV (not always the case in every sports program i.e. Eden Hall Academy JV Hockey. Gordon Bombay’s Ducks are Junior Goodwill Games Gold Medalists). 

However, one thing that really jumped out at me was the number of knee braces on the JV girls.  Teenage athletes, especially females, should not be sustaining such frequent and serious non-contact knee injuries!
